In November 2019, we came together with a common goal, to be proactive in the pursuit of safe spaces and improvement of hygiene in our countries of origin. The Coronavirus outbreak left us all in despair as we wondered, how would the 3rd world manage such an uphill battle. What can we do to prevent this from happening again? Will we ever travel, meet with loved ones, go to our place of work, sit in a restaurant, go to the cinema, attend a wedding or a play at school, and feel safe again?

Africa is plagued with inexistent or poor water hygiene systems and diseases that can be easily eradicated. In South East Asia, density and cultural social habits could spread a disease as fast as the speed of light. In the Caribbean, due to hurricanes, the water supply is interrupted yearly. In the USA, when disaster strikes, the populace suffers a loss of water, power, and more. Farmers are also struggling to have reliable and safe sources of water for their farms. However, if we choose to be proactive, we can limit the damage done by consistent disease outbreaks like Ebola and other endemics which will have a positive holistic effect globally. We chose to do something about as three women of African descent, we knew the immediate pain points in the 3rd world, so we began developing ideas and exchanging solutions that led to the inception of HyGear.

In 2020, our worst-case scenario played out globally with the emergence of Covid-19 which fast became the greatest health challenge of our time. Everyone was affected. We realized that we now had a greater task and opportunity for UVC technology which included our inventions to be applied globally. With our first products coming out of R&D phase, we wanted to do more to show how our technology could be the future of hygiene. To cater to the immediate need, we proceeded to pivot and launched a distribution, marketing, and education division and secured collaborative partnerships with innovative manufacturers in Europe and Asia to help build a global distribution network of green powered sanitation infrastructure systems and products for sectors that need it the most.

In 2025, with 2 patents secured, we made a decision to futher our mission and transitioned to continue our work as Keeping It Clean Global, a 501c3 non-profit to bring sustainble, green powered hygiene infrastructural systems to communities in need around the world. We are very grateful for all who have journeyed with us thus far, lets keep the momemtum going.
